Gift cards, the gift that keeps on taking

$97 billion dollars is expected to be spent on gift cards in 2007. Gift cards are the #1 gift purchased for loved ones and friends. Fees can easily eat up the unused balance of a card over time. TowerGroup predicts $7.8 billion will go unspent on gift cards this year. Now states are stepping in and claiming as much as 60% of this unclaimed property
